The service

Docket lets you write a quote or an invoice, preview it, download a PDF, and turn a quote into an invoice. It is run by a sole trader in Brisbane, Queensland. Email mackiehayden@gmail.com.

The guides on this site are general information about quoting in Australia. They are not tax, legal or building advice. Check the ATO, and your state building authority, before you rely on them for a particular job.

Your documents

You own the quotes and invoices you write. They are saved in the browser on that device. Docket does not keep a copy, so clearing the site data, or losing the phone, means we cannot restore them. If you share an accept link, you are sending the quote inside that link. You are responsible for the ABN, the GST treatment, the figures, and the words you send to a client.

Free and Pro

The free plan is 5 jobs a calendar month, counted in this browser in Australia/Sydney time when you download a PDF or turn a quote into an invoice. A quote and the invoice made from it count as one. Opening a blank quote, or the sample job, does not count. Deleting a document does not return the slot. Pro is $12 a month or $99 a year. Those are the prices you pay, and they are advertised as including GST. Get Pro opens Stripe checkout. After payment, Pro is stored on this browser. Restore Pro on the pricing page uses the email from checkout if you switch phones.

There is no Docket login in this version. A subscription does not upload your quotes and does not move them to another phone. The monthly counter lives in the browser. If you have paid and that counter still blocks you, email us and we will sort it out.

Stripe

Pro is billed by Stripe. Card details are collected by Stripe, not typed into Docket. You can cancel by emailing mackiehayden@gmail.com. We will cancel the Stripe subscription. You keep the period you have already paid for. Template packs on the pricing page are example lines, notes and terms, and they are a Pro feature. They are not a separate charge. They are not a home building contract, a payment claim, or legal advice. You are responsible for the words and the figures you send to a client.

Refer a mate: a Pro subscriber can share a personal link. Someone who starts a new Pro subscription from that link gets 30 days free, then pays the usual price, $12 a month or $99 a year, including GST. Stripe collects a card for the trial. When their first payment above $0 succeeds, the referrer gets a $12 credit on their Stripe customer, applied to a later invoice. It is one credit for each subscription that pays. The referrer and the new subscriber have to be different people. Cancelling before that first payment does not earn the credit. The offer does not change the Pro price.

Acceptable use

Do not use Docket to mislead a client, to invent an ABN, or to issue a tax invoice if you are not allowed to charge GST. Do not try to break the service or scrape it in a way that degrades it for other people.

Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies a consumer guarantee or other right under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded. Where the law lets us limit a remedy for a failure that is not a major failure, we may resupply the service or refund the Pro fee for the current billing period.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost profit, or for a quote you cannot recover because it was stored only on your device. We do not promise that the app will be uninterrupted.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. Courts in Queensland have jurisdiction, without limiting any right you have to go to a tribunal under the Australian Consumer Law.
